As a relatively new member of Zaksons design team, Designer Micaela Malkmus has quickly proven her dedication to the store with her friendly customer service approach and fresh new take on Interior Design. Micaela likes to start the design process with “strong bones”, relying heavily on a well thought out layout that meets the client’s needs.

Once this is established, everything else falls into place with a seamless transition from the architecture of the home to the style of furniture, color concept and finally the “feeling” that is created in the space. Micaela often draws inspiration from something personal in the clients life whether it is a piece of art passed down in the family or a place they once visited on vacation. It’s important to include a natural element in the room that makes that person feel good.

Working alongside some incredibly talented Designers at Zaksons Micaela confirms she is truly doing what she loves, designing interior spaces that people can continue to make memories in for years to come.
